Enter the seven-story building from the West side; at security say "Toastmasters." Exit the elevator on the third floor, turn left, right and left to access our meeting room.
Visitors are welcome, please arrive a little before 7:00. Come and experience what Toastmasters can do for you.

June 16th Meeting - "Favorite Movies" Theme

Ralph called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. promptly, gave the invocation and led the pledge. President, Roxie welcomed our guests. There is a speaker workshop in Leesburg August 1, for information call 352-874-7756. The club will have an extra curricular celebration June 28, incoming President Diane C will send details.

James T, as Toastmaster, introduced our theme, "Favorite Movies" with humor. Grammarian Karen gave us the Word of the Day, “Noob.” Scheduled speakers began with, Bill M giving CC project # 4 "My Daughter’s Birth." My inspired us with Interpretive Reading project # 2 interpreting poetry “The Dash, by Linda Ellis." Intesar engaged us with Specialty Speaking project # 4 the play using “The Da Vinci Code, by Dan Brown.” As the final speaker; Diane shared Storytelling project # 4 the touching story “The Tiger’s Whisker.” Table Topics Master Christopher led Table Topics on another variation of the theme, “Favorite Movies.”

Master Evaluator Helen introduced evaluator Betty O for Bill M’s speech. Roxie evaluated My's speech. Bill M evaluated the speech given by Intesar. In addition, Ralph evaluated the project delivered by Diane C. Functionaries were Mauricio as Timer, Karen as Grammarian, Kim T as Ah Counter, James T as Vote Counter with Roxie as Educational Focus. Only three speakers used the Word of the Day, “Noob.” Helen evaluated the meeting and stated appreciation for the many members who helped to make our meeting work.

The "Best Awards" were Best Table Topic to Betty O, Best Evaluator to Ralph, Most Improved to Bill M, and Best Speaker went to Diane C. Our guests commented positively, and the meeting adjourned at 8:32 p.m.
